Keys - Engineers

A tried and tested fixing. Used to convert motor power into utilisable mechanical transmission, keys have such a definite capacity as to make some other shear arrangement necessary within the machine operating system.

Three main categories:

  • Parallel (Feather)
    • DIN 6885A – Round both ends (Series 12)
    • DIN 6885B – Square both ends (Series 10)
    • DIN 6885AB – One round and one square end (Series 11)
  • Gib head (Taper) – DIN 6887 (Series 13)
  • Woodruff – DIN 6888 (Series 14)

Material:

  • Key steel, EN6, EN9, C45K at manufacturers option
  • A4 Stainless steel to order.
